SLOW RACES
Any of various meets at which contests are held to test the skill of the competitors, as in equestrianship, gymnastics, or sports car racing. Or SCOOTERS.
Essentially, a gymkhana is any event featuring a starting point, a finish line and some sort of "obstacle" to get through, around, or by, all within a time limit.
The driver's goal is to get through the course as quickly as possible with the fewest number of mistakes. Acceleration, braking, drifting & grip driving are all necessary. Not only does the driver have to hold control over the car, but gymkhana requires strong mental concentration and memorization.
Our gymkhana goes something like this..
- Weave the cones
- Pick up and drink from table
- Circle of death
- See saw
- Teeter totter
- Ride the plank
- Series of small jumps
Basically your goal is to lose the race. You want to be the last one to cross the finish line. You drive your scooter as slow as you can and never put down your foot. Be the last to tap and you win. This takes great skill, balance, dexterity and concentration, or just dumb lick, hell I can't figure it out I've never won.

Registration Fee is $30. This gets you free camping, a shirt, patch, 1 raffle ticket, 4 meals included; they are Friday night, Saturday Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner all provided this year and some free beer, not to mention all the rides, gymkhana, comrodare, and jack assery (who else loves you this much)... yo mommy don't count
There will be regular 11x17 posters but an additional 10 Metallic Print versions will be available for $20 each.

For those who have been to a lakes rally in the past already know that this is one of the best rallies in Texas. We have had 75+ people on the rides, we always have a blast at the parties, the bon fires, the pub hoping etc. So kick off your scooter rally season in style and come to The 7th Annual North Texas Lakes Rally. Our theme this year is movie inspired, now that could Roman Holiday, Quadrophenia, or even movies that were filmed in the Waxahachie area.
